Role Overview

As HR Advisor, you will provide comprehensive and hands-on generalist HR service across a diverse workforce. Acting as a trusted partner to managers, you will offer guidance on a broad range of employee relations matters while ensuring best practice, consistency, and compliance with employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied employee relations caseload including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, absence, and probation matters.
  • Coaching and supporting managers on people management issues, policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Monitoring absence trends and supporting managers with attendance management processes.
  • Partnering with operational leaders to deliver people initiatives and support organizational change programmes.
  • Supporting employee wellbeing through effective management of long and short-term sickness cases, including liaison with Occupational Health providers.
  • Building positive relationships with employee representatives and key stakeholders.
  • Preparing management reports, HR communications, briefings, and supporting people-focused projects.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR system data.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across HR processes, policies, and employee experience.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer, or similar generalist HR position.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations processes.
  • Experience advising managers within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • Experience of using HR systems and producing management information.
  • A collaborative and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • CIPD qualification or progress towards qualification would be advantageous.
