HR Advisor

Location: Hampshire – minimum 2 days per week onsite

Contract Length: Initial 3 months with potential extension

Rate: Competitive rate inside IR35

Security Clearance: BPSS required

The Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Advisor to provide both advisory and administrative support across a broad range of HR activities. This is a varied position that will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, balancing operational HR support with data management, reporting, and project coordination.

You will act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing first-line guidance on HR policies and procedures while ensuring people-related processes are delivered efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records within HR and payroll systems.
  • Produce HR reports, data analysis, and management information to support decision-making.
  • Provide first-line advice to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
  • Support key HR processes including absence management, employee lifecycle administration, and exit processes.
  • Assist with HR projects, including scheduling meetings, coordinating actions, and preparing documentation.
  • Monitor and manage shared HR inboxes, responding to queries or escalating where appropriate.
  • Prepare documentation for employee relations cases using templates and established processes.
  • Support general HR administration, including raising purchase orders and managing records.
  • Ensure all employee information is handled confidentially and in line with data protection requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisory or HR Administration role.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong IT aptitude with the ability to learn new systems quickly and analyse data effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential.
