We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join a successful multi-site retail business.

Reporting to the Head of HR and People, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and senior leaders, providing expert HR guidance and delivering initiatives that support organisational objectives. This is a varied role that combines operational HR support with strategic project work, systems management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers and leaders to provide expert advice throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead and deliver HR projects, including organisational change, policy development, and process improvements.
  • Manage and optimise HR systems including upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee payroll processes through an external managed service provider, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement across HR processes, systems, and practices.
  • Support workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Deliver training and coaching to managers on HR policies, procedures, and systems.

About You

You will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor, or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems.
  • Experience leading HR projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Excellent understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
