About the Role

As an HR Advisor, you will provide high-quality support and guidance to schools on a broad range of people issues, helping leaders navigate complex employee relations matters with confidence. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will respond to queries via telephone, email, and virtual meetings, delivering timely, accurate, and pragmatic HR advice while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.

Michael Page is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded public sector organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to support a portfolio of schools and educational settings. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys providing practical, commercially focused employee relations advice while making a positive impact within the education sector.

Description

  • Provide professional advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support managers with employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Assist with recruitment processes, ensuring adherence to organisational standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Advise on employment law and best practices to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth HR operations.
  • Provide support for training and development programmes as required.

Profile

A Successful HR Advisor Should Have:

  • Previous HR Advisor experience within a public sector environment
  • Schools or education sector experience would be highly advantageous
  • Experience providing advice through HR helpline, advisory, or casework-based services
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practice
  • Experience supporting a full range of employee relations cases
  • The ability to gather facts objectively, ask insightful questions, and make balanced recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to suggest improvements and develop practical guidance for managers
  • A customer-focused mindset and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels
