Role: HR Advisor

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Robert Walters is delighted to be partnering with a well-established professional services organisation in the search for an HR Advisor to join their growing People team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys a true generalist role and wants to be part of a collaborative, people-focused business. They are looking for someone with a legal, professional services, accountancy, consultancy background.

Working closely with managers across the organisation, you'll provide practical HR support across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations, policy guidance, and day-to-day people matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing first-line HR advice and support to managers and employees
  • Managing a range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance matters
  • Supporting managers with people-related decision-making and best practice
  • Assisting with recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
  • Supporting HR projects, initiatives and process improvements
  • Ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Producing HR reports and management information where required

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong HR generalist background who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced professional environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or equivalent generalist HR role
  • Strong employee relations experience with confidence managing cases from start to finish
  • Experience working within a legal, professional services, accountancy, consultancy or partnership environment
  • A solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to build credible relationships with managers at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential
