Hays HR is supporting a specialist not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor on an initial 3-month contract. NR Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Working closely with managers across the organisation, you'll provide a proactive generalist HR service, supporting employee relations, recruitment and HR policy matters within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a range of employee relations cases, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
  • Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers.
  • Support the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with recruitment activity, including advertising, scheduling and participating in interviews.
  • Support onboarding, pre-employment checks and enhanced DBS processes.
  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment legislation and safeguarding requirements.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor role.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Confident advising and supporting managers.
  • Ideally, experience in a not-for-profit, public sector, education, care, charity, healthcare or another regulated environment would be beneficial.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience desirable.

The Offer

  • Initial 3-month contract with potential extension.
  • Full-time or part-time hours available.
  • Predominantly site-based role near Basingstoke (approximately 4 days per week on-site when working full-time).
  • Enhanced DBS is required to be processed for the role.
