HR Advisor - Fixed Term 6 months
BD Group is looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to support the delivery of a professional and customer-focused HR service across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior ER/HR Business Partner, you will provide advice and guidance to managers and employees across a wide range of people matters, supporting the business through the full employee lifecycle.
Working closely with managers, employees, payroll colleagues, and the wider HR team, you will play a key role in delivering effective HR solutions, supporting employee relations activity, maintaining compliance, and contributing to the continuous improvement of people processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and people-related matters.
- Support employee relations processes, including investigations, hearings, note taking, and coaching managers.
- Assist with organisational change programmes, including restructures and TUPE activities.
- Provide HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, contractual changes, and leaver processes.
- Manage pre-employment checks, including right to work verification, references, and DBS checks.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring GDPR compliance and data integrity.
- Support payroll administration processes and assist with resolving payroll-related queries.
- Administer employee benefits, pension arrangements, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Produce workforce reports and HR management information to support decision making.
- Support learning and development activities, performance review processes, and HR projects.
- Assist with Subject Access Requests, data breach investigations, and other data protection activities.
- Work collaboratively with managers and colleagues to deliver an efficient and high-quality HR service.
- Monitor changes in employment legislation and HR best practice, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- CIPD qualified, studying towards CIPD, or able to demonstrate equivalent HR experience.
- Experience working within a busy HR Advisory, HR Generalist, or people-focused role.
- Knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations processes, and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting managers and employees across the employee lifecycle.
- Experience maintaining HR records and working with HR systems.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualification.
- Experience supporting organisational change programmes, restructures, or TUPE transfers.
- Experience supporting payroll processes and resolving payroll queries.
- Experience producing HR metrics, workforce reports, and management information.
- Knowledge of HR and payroll systems.

- Working Pattern: Full Time

- Location: Dagenham
- Hybrid working: Available where business needs allow
