About The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and forward-thinking HR Advisor to join our prestigious client based in Ashford, Kent. This is a full-time, permanent position within a well-established care company that values dedicated and proactive HR professionals. The HR Advisor will play a critical role in providing high-quality, pragmatic HR advice and support to managers across the organization. This role offers a diverse and engaging workload, with ample opportunities for career progression and professional development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or be actively working towards it. Alternatively, candidates with substantial HR advisory experience and a proven track record in employee relations may also be considered. A strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and experience in handling complex employee relations cases is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong organizational abilities, are required to succeed in this role. Familiarity with HR systems, particularly iTrent, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are highly desirable. Experience working with trade unions or employee representatives will be an advantage.

Responsibilities
The HR Advisor will be responsible for a range of duties, including acting as a first point of contact for managers seeking HR guidance on employee relations issues. They will support managers with sickness absence management, investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, capability and performance management, whistleblowing, and flexible working requests. The role involves providing guidance around suspension processes, supporting formal meetings and hearings, and producing accurate, confidential notes. Building professional relationships with trade union representatives and drafting clear, professional correspondence are also key responsibilities. The HR Advisor will monitor sickness absence, identify trigger points, and support managers with appropriate follow-up actions, including occupational health referrals. Additionally, the role involves delivering training and coaching to managers, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures, and participating in ad hoc HR projects and wider initiatives.
