Do you have experience of working in an HR employee advisory role? Unlock a rewarding role as an HR Consultant, delivering great service in HR Direct and shaping confident, consistent outcomes for UK colleagues. As an HR Consultant, you will be the trusted first point of contact for employee questions, turning complex HR queries into clear guidance, timely resolutions, and a genuinely positive experience. This HR Advisor/Consultant role offers hybrid flexibility from Whitley, Coventry, an engaging, fast-paced contact centre environment, and clear performance goals focused on quality, service levels, and employee satisfaction.
What You Will Do
- Provide first-line HR advice by phone, email, portal, and virtual chat, resolving enquiries across HR processes and policies.
- Understand employee circumstances, identify the correct policy, and help colleagues apply it with confidence.
- Manage and triage inbound tickets and escalations from the HR Virtual Assistant, ensuring strong first-contact resolution.
- Pull absence reports and maintain the daily inbox for non-employee queries, supporting smooth HR Direct operations.
- Coach and advise managers on applying employment policies appropriately, using knowledge of UK employment law to minimise risk.
- Work collaboratively with wider HR teams, supporting continuous improvements to policy deployment and service delivery.

What You Will Bring
- Prior experience in an HR employee advisory or contact centre style role, with strong generalist HR knowledge.
- Good working understanding of UK employment law, including disciplinary, grievances, absence management, and performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, plus comfort with ticketing and case management workflows.
- A customer-first, problem-solving approach, with resilience and tenacity in a high-volume environment.

Location:
Based in Whitley, Coventry, with hybrid working 2-3 days per week on site.
