About the Role
My client is looking for a HR Advisor to work onsite in Cheltenham for an aerospace/defence company. Your role will involve
- Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on a range of HR queries and people-related matters.
- Provide timely and pragmatic advice on employee relations issues, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
- Support managers in the application of HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and legal compliance.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the HR Manager as appropriate.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Support all stages of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, internal moves and employee exits.
- Ensure employee records and HR systems are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the preparation of HR documentation, by providing accurate information to HR Services.
- Ensure employee information is managed in accordance with GDPR and company requirements.

- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruitment activity and candidate onboarding.
- Coordinate recruitment administration and support a positive candidate experience.
- Assist with the delivery of induction and onboarding programmes for new employees.
- Support talent and development initiatives where required.
Stakeholder Support & Continuous Improvement
- Build effective working relationships with managers and employees across the business.
- Support the delivery of HR initiatives and projects as required.
- Assist with the gathering and analysis of HR data and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Support employee engagement and wellbeing activities across the site.
- Assist with communications and initiatives that promote Eaton's values and culture.
- Build positive relationships with employee representatives and support engagement activities where required.

Qualifications/Experience
- Proven experience in an HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor or equivalent generalist HR role.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience), with CIPD Level 7 advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing a range of employee relations cases independently.
- Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or operational environment is desirable.
- Experience working within a large corporate organisation is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as business requirements dictate.
