Role Description

You will be a trusted partner to managers and employees, providing pragmatic advice across the full breadth of HR.

Client Details

We are working with a well-established organisation in the industrial manufacturing and engineering sector, supporting a major UK manufacturing operation of around 600 employees.

Description

As a trusted HR partner, you'll work closely with managers and senior leaders across the business, providing expert advice and hands-on support across the full employee lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end recruitment for manufacturing operations and supporting workforce planning initiatives.
  • Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability processes, absence management, redundancy, retirement, and dispute resolution.
  • Coaching and supporting managers on employment law, HR best practice, policies, and procedures.
  • Supporting succession planning, talent management, and career development initiatives to build strong leadership pipelines.
  • Driving improvements in employee engagement through regular communication forums, colleague feedback, and cultural change initiatives.
  • Supporting performance management processes, annual reviews, pay review activities, and development programmes.
  • Working closely with operational leaders to reduce absence, improve retention, and enhance workforce productivity.
  • Ensuring HR policies, processes, and practices remain legally compliant and aligned with company standards.
  • Contributing to key HR projects and strategic initiatives designed to support organisational growth and operational excellence.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you'll bring a strong blend of HR expertise, commercial awareness, and relationship-building skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisory role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or a similar operational environment
  • Strong employee relations experience with confidence managing complex casework
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience supporting recruitment, succession planning, and talent development initiatives
  • Strong analytical and IT skills, with HR systems experience (Workday experience would be advantageous)
  • Outstanding communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Resilience, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion

Job Offer

  • Salary between £40,000 and £42,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Excellent benefits package.
  • Permanent position in the Powys area
