The Role
We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our busy Human Resources department at our Group's headquarters in Belton, Grantham on a maternity cover basis (for 9-12 months).
Reporting into the Group HR Manager and working closely with and as a key part of the Human Resources team, you'll be responsible for managing the two HR Assistants whilst also offering guidance and support to management on employee recruitment, retention, policies and procedures, and employee performance as well as assisting with maintaining employee relations.
The successful individual will be confident in analysing current operations and data and providing improvement advice to management. They will also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to maintain employee relationships as well as be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
The HR team is responsible for managing the time and attendance and forwarding all information to the outsourced payroll and then checking that all pay/payslips are correct before issue.
A key project shall be the implementation of a new HR / T and A system as the current system shall be de-listed as of July 28. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the system.
Working hours are: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30, and Friday 08:00-13:30 (37.5 working hours per week). We are open to / will consider part-time working hours. Whilst the role is based in our head office at Grantham, there will be a requirement to travel and support our Wellingborough and Birmingham sites.
Please note, that our current HR Advisor is due to go on Maternity Leave at the end of December, so the successful candidate will work closely with them to ensure a successful handover. We hope our new HR Advisor will be available from end of November / beginning of December.

Responsibilities:
- Line management of the HR Assistants, providing support with T&A systems, processes, HR queries and overseeing the day-to-day transactional provision.
- Provide hands-on support for disciplinary, attendance, grievance or conduct issues; including supporting management in relevant meetings, completing relevant investigations and implementing any steps required.
- Overseeing Occupational Health provision; including referrals for individual OH casework as well as supporting the HR assistants with onsite occupational health assessments.
- Support and advice on recruitment across the ASG group. Including monitoring job interest levels and adjusting advertisements accordingly, as well as liaising with various advertising platforms when required.
- Supporting the HR Assistants with reviewing and updating job descriptions as and when changes are necessary, developing recruitment campaigns and general recruitment queries. Organising recruitment events and attending where necessary.
- Organising apprenticeships, work experience, or any other educational provision alongside relevant management.
- Monitor and review employee engagement and satisfaction levels. Identify areas of improvement relating to the outcome of data review.
- Use HR systems to access, input and compile data. Collating key metrics and identifying areas of improvement to report back to management.
- Work with the HR manager on strategy planning where necessary.
- Updating of policies.
- As a small team you must provide a full HR generalist level of support (including hands-on-support) across all GB sites, from HR case work to recruitment, to onboarding, off-boarding, absence management, Occupational Health, Policy updates, L&D, payroll benefits and more.
- Produce monthly and quarterly KPIs.
- Travel to the other sites as and when required.
- Take a lead and hands on role in the implementation of the new HR and T and A system

Requirements:
- Previous HR Experience at HR Advisor level.
- Competent in UK employment law.
- Competent on HR and T&A systems (especially implementation of a new HR system).
- Multi-site.
- Previous management experience.
- Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent team working skills but also the ability to use own initiative.
- Open to embracing new ways of working and comfortable with change.
- Ability to manage own workload to meet specific deadlines.
- Positive attitude towards all work, colleagues and customers.
- Can lead the HR team in the Group HR managers absence.
