HR Advisor

Here at Sealey, we are seeking to recruit a HR Advisor to join our team based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.

The Company

Would you like to work for one of the UK’s leading hand, power tool, and equipment distributors? Established since 1978, Sealey are the preferred choice for the trade within the automotive, agricultural, motorcycle, industrial and engineering market sectors.

Responsibilities

As Our HR Advisor Will Include

  • Working closely with department managers/supervisors, providing accurate and timely advice on all areas of employment law and Company policies and procedures.
  • Providing support and guidance on discipline, grievance and absence management matters, ensuring these are dealt with consistently, adhering to legislation and Company policies and procedures.
  • Preparing training material on a wide range of generalist HR topics and deliver training as required.
  • Support in developing and implementing Company employee engagement initiatives.
  • Supporting the HR Assistant with all aspects of recruitment, from drafting adverts to writing contracts and conducting new starter inductions.
  • Management of HR systems.

What we’re looking for in our HR Advisor

  • Previous experience in a similar, generalist HR role.
  • Already holds or is working towards CIPD level 5 qualification.
  • The ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • To be meticulous with detail and have a proven ability to operate to deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities in an effective manner.
  • To be organised, with the ability to multi-task and reprioritise throughout the day.
  • The ability to act on their own initiative and make decisions when required.
  • To be resilient and empathetic.
  • To be approachable with the ability to build and sustain relationships at all levels.
  • A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience of working with HR systems.
