The Human Resources Advisor is responsible for professionally and efficiently delivering HR advice and operational support to UK based business units and functions and may extend to international HR activity. The HR Advisor will proactively partner with the HR contacts within the Business Units to which they are aligned to deliver operational HR support to the needs of their client groups. The HR Advisor will apply their domain expertise ensuring that all HR activities are executed in line with relevant legislation, and that risks are identified and mitigated where appropriate.
In conjunction with the other HR professionals, this role will participate as a member of the People Operations Team supporting all employee populations associated with UK based business units and functions, extending to International HR activity. This role requires the incumbent to operate independently, flexibly and proactively with the ability to manage high volume workload, meeting deadlines as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnering with the HR contact and build effective relationships with relevant Line Managers and stakeholders within the business to which they are aligned, to provide expertise in operational HR advice, enabling HR stakeholders to reduce their involvement in operational HR activities
- Providing updates to the People Operations team to ensure the team have a wider awareness of the business
- Owning Employee Relations cases within the business units (disciplinary, grievance and mediation, performance management, and supporting HR Advisor colleagues where required
- Ensuring Employee Relations cases are well managed, business risks identified and mitigated, decision points are escalated as appropriate, and that employees are treated fairly ensuring Twinings brand is at the forefront of consideration
- Supporting and coach Line Managers through Employee Relations casework, escalating trends and areas for development to relevant HR contact
- Overseeing more complex processes that requires a wider understanding of implications, such as Life Leave, Occupational Health referrals and redundancies
- Recommending continuous improvement for GoTwo Responsibilities, HR forms, admin processes to ensure that the information captured is relevant and informative, and the user experience is efficient and friendly
- Overseeing the recruitment process within assigned Business Units; providing psychometric testing where required, support with sifting candidates and interviewing
- Peer checking with attention to detail offer paperwork generated within the People Operations Team, ensuring accuracy and provide feedback constructively for areas for improvement
- Working with HR Coordinators to gather data and analytics where required
- Overseeing the systems used within the People Operations team ensuring they're fit for purpose and are an enabler to processes
- Generating, maintaining and managing archives of accurate and timely employee records in line with applicable data protection legislation
- Ensuring data on employee changes is checked and accurately submitted to Payroll and documentation is submitted in the appropriate format to meet audit criteria
- Supporting on L&D interventions within assigned Business Units as required
- To be an active participant in project work and team meetings
- Maintaining own continuing professional development, keeping up to date with legal requirements and relevant HR developments
- Maintaining appropriate confidentiality of information relating to the Company, its employees and maintain compliance with GDPR legislation
- Ensuring all working practices comply with HSE legislation
- Sharing knowledge and experience across the team to enable development of colleagues across the People Operations team
- Supporting the team through owning and resolving general HR enquiries that have been escalated by the HR Administrator or HR Coordinator, or delegated by the HR Manager
- Working with strong attention to detail, may provide peer checking across the team where appropriate
- Involvement in broader support opportunities to HR stakeholders, that could include International HR support

- Experience within a Generalist HR support role
- Experienced in complex ER Case work
- Ideally be CIPD Level 5 Qualified
- A confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels
- Organised and efficient with the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Flexible and adaptable with a proactive approach
- Determined and resilient and willing to seek solutions to sometimes challenging questions
