Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied generalist role where you can make a real impact? Our client is seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Generalist to join their established HR team in Surrey.

Working closely with senior leaders and managers across the organisation, you will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive HR service, providing expert advice, supporting employee relations matters, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices.

The Role

As HR Generalist, you will provide day-to-day HR support and guidance across the employee lifecycle, ensuring best practice, compliance, and a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Advice

  • Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees.
  • Manage a range of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Conduct investigations and support formal meetings where required.
  • Advise on probationary periods, flexible working requests, and occupational health referrals.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of HR policies and procedures.

Recruitment & Talent Support

  • Assist with end-to-end recruitment activities, including job descriptions, advertising, interviews, and offers.
  • Support managers with workforce planning and talent attraction initiatives.
  • Analyse employee turnover data and provide recommendations to improve retention.

Learning & Development

  • Identify training and development needs across the business.
  • Support the delivery of learning initiatives and workshops.
  • Assist with apprenticeship and development programmes.
  • Coach and guide managers on people management best practice.

HR Systems & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Ensure HR documentation remains compliant and up to date.
  • Support HR systems administration and process improvements.
  • Assist with salary, benefits, and benchmarking activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist position.
  • Strong employee relations experience across disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management.
  • The ability to confidently guide, influence, and coach managers at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine passion for HR.
