Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 8:45am-5:00pm
Friday: 8:45am-3:45pm

Are you an experienced HR Advisor, HR Officer, People Advisor or Employee Relations Advisor looking for a varied operational HR role within transport, logistics and agriculture?

RecruitME is recruiting for a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join the Agriculture division of a major UK food and farming business.

This role primarily supports the company's transport operation, working closely with transport managers, drivers, operational leaders, and wider support teams.

This is not a food-processing or abattoir-based position.

The HR Advisor Role

As HR Advisor, you will provide practical, commercially focused, and legally compliant HR advice across a busy transport and agricultural operation.

Working closely with the Senior HR Advisor and HR Business Partner, you will support managers with employee relations, absence management, performance, recruitment, engagement, and the wider employee lifecycle.

The role has a strong employee relations focus and would suit someone who enjoys being visible within an operational environment, building relationships with managers, and handling a varied HR caseload.

You will be based at Anwick, near Sleaford, with occasional travel to other agricultural locations. Visits to the feed mill are expected approximately once per month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice to transport managers and operational teams
  • Manage investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, absence, and capability cases
  • Coach managers on employment law, HR policies, and consistent people management
  • Support absence management, return-to-work processes, and absence-reduction plans
  • Advise managers on performance and capability matters
  • Build strong relationships with drivers, managers, and operational colleagues
  • Maintain accurate HR records, case notes, correspondence, and employee documentation
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training-compliance activity
  • Assist with workforce planning and organizational change
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing, and communication initiatives
  • Produce HR reports and maintain accurate information on HR systems
  • Support continuous improvement across HR policies and processes
  • Provide occasional support at other agricultural locations

About You

You may currently be working as an:

  • HR Advisor
  • HR Officer
  • People Advisor
  • Employee Relations Advisor
  • ER Advisor
  • HR Generalist
  • Site HR Advisor
  • Operational HR Advisor
  • Transport HR Advisor
  • Logistics HR Advisor

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR advisory or generalist HR role
  • Strong employee relations and case-management experience
  • Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability cases
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Confidence coaching and advising operational managers
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A practical, resilient, and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving licence

Experience within transport, logistics, fleet operations, distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG, food, agriculture, or another fast-moving operational environment would be highly advantageous.

A CIPD qualification or current CIPD study would be beneficial but is not essential.
