About CAYSH

CAYSH is a purpose-driven charity, dedicated to providing safer homes and better futures for young homeless people. We believe in the power of community, collaboration, and transparency to create lasting change. We provide supported housing, advice, and guidance to over 170 vulnerable, homeless young people per year.

Our Community Interest Company has a separate board and exists to provide 24/7 concierge services for young people at CAYSH and externally to vulnerable adults with complex needs.

About the Role

We are looking for a HR Advisor who can provide clear HR guidance and advice, whilst being supportive of CAYSH's overall mission to end youth homelessness. You will be able to work as a team, liaise with and be supported by our insurer's legal advisory service, and also work independently, leading projects yourself.

This broad HR Advisor role sits within the leadership team, supporting day-to-day HR needs while contributing to business strategy and HR objectives. You will provide practical advice, build trusted relationships, and ensure HR practices are consistent, values-led, and aligned with CAYSH's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Charity's HR strategy in line with wider business objectives.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, guidance, and action plans, including those relating to equality, wellbeing, and compliance.
  • Provide professional HR advice and support to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, and employment law matters.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding activity, ensuring safer recruitment, equality, and inclusion requirements are met.
  • Identify training and development needs, arrange suitable learning activities, and deliver HR-related training where required.
  • Manage appraisal, supervision, and staff development processes to promote quality, consistency, and high completion rates.
  • Support organizational change, workforce planning, restructuring, and redundancy processes in line with business needs and legal requirements.
  • Lead, support, and develop HR advisory and administrative staff, ensuring team priorities and professional standards are maintained.
  • Prepare and present HR reports, updates, and key performance information for senior leaders, the Board, and Trustees/Directors.
  • Oversee HR systems, records, budgets, payroll, benefits, wellbeing activity, and procurement of HR services where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
