An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Advisor to join the VolkerServices People Team. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about people and looking to broaden their HR experience across a wide range of activities including employee engagement, employee relations, and HR projects.

Reporting into our Head of HR for VolkerServices, you'll work closely with colleagues and managers across the business, helping to deliver key people initiatives while gaining valuable exposure to all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This is a fantastic development opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their HR career.

You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of HR activities including:

  • Supporting training, development, and talent initiatives across the business.
  • Coordinating learning and development activities, training requests, and development plans.
  • Providing support to our early careers cohorts and their line managers.
  • Supporting the performance review process and development planning activities.
  • Coordinating employee engagement initiatives, including MySay surveys and action planning.
  • Creating and managing employee communications through email and Blink.
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding activities across the business.
  • Maintaining and developing job descriptions.
  • Assisting with employee relations matters, including note-taking, case administration, and providing guidance to managers.
  • Supporting the development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining HR systems and producing management information and reporting.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has some experience in HR or a related people-focused role.
  • Holds, or is working towards, a CIPD qualification.
  • Has strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
  • Builds effective relationships and communicates confidently with colleagues at all levels.
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of their work.
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Has a genuine interest in employee development, engagement, and creating a positive employee experience.
