About The Role
Pertemps Newcastle is currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor on behalf of Northern Powergrid for a 6-month sickness cover. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated HR professional to join a dynamic People team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality HR services within a large and complex organization. Based either in Sunderland or Shiremoor, the HR Advisor will play a vital role in providing practical, people-focused advice and support to managers and key stakeholders across a specific business area. The position involves managing a wide range of HR activities, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, absence management, wellbeing initiatives, organizational change, and learning and development programs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a CIPD qualification, demonstrating their professional HR expertise. Significant generalist HR experience within a large or complex organizational setting is essential, coupled with previous experience working in an HR advisory or business partnering capacity. Candidates should have proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including Directors, and supporting organizational change initiatives. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and various HR IT systems is required. Additionally, a full clean driving license is necessary for travel between sites or client locations. Desirable qualifications include a degree in HR, Business, or a related field, along with experience working within a trade union-recognized environment or in blue-collar or operational industries.

Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across a dedicated directorate, ensuring timely and effective support to managers and staff.
- Coach and support managers on employee relations issues, including absence management, performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Advise managers on recruitment processes, resourcing strategies, and organizational change initiatives to ensure workforce planning aligns with business objectives.
- Support talent development and performance improvement plans to foster a high-performance culture.
- Contribute HR input into various projects, change programs, and working groups to facilitate smooth organizational transitions.
- Utilize HR data and metrics to analyze trends, identify areas for improvement, and support continuous HR service enhancement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with managers, colleagues, trade union representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the wider People Services team and provide support to the People Business Partner to ensure seamless HR operations.
- Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused HR service that meets organizational standards and employee expectations.

Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range of £38,000 to £43,000, commensurate with experience. The position is a fixed-term contract for six months, providing an opportunity to gain valuable experience within a leading organization.
