Job Overview
The HR Support Apprentice will provide administrative and operational support to the People Team while undertaking the Level 3 People Professional Apprenticeship and CIPD qualification.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the People Business Partners and wider business, the role will support all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, people administration, employee engagement, HR systems and reporting. The role will play an important part in delivering an exceptional employee experience and supporting the delivery of DLRC's People Strategy.
The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to People Operations and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career within Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
People Administration & Operations
- Provide first-line administrative support for People Team activities and employee queries
- Maintain accurate employee records, documentation and People System data
- Prepare and administer contracts, offer letters, employment amendments and HR correspondence while ensuring employee records and documentation are maintained accurately and compliantly in line with GDPR and company requirements
- Assist with the administration of family leave, absence management and flexible working processes
- Support payroll administration processes, ensuring information is submitted accurately and within required timescales
- Assist with benefits administration and employee benefit queries

Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support recruitment activity including arranging interviews, candidate communications and maintaining recruitment records
- Support pre-employment checks, right to work documentation and onboarding administration
- Work with line managers and the People Team to ensure a positive and engaging onboarding experience including coordinating new starter documentation and induction activities
- Support offboarding activities and employee lifecycle administration
Employee Experience & Culture
- Champion DLRC's values, culture, belonging, wellbeing and employee experience
- Support engagement initiatives, recognition activities, social events and wellbeing programmes
- Assist with employee communications and People Team campaigns
- Contribute to initiatives that support inclusion, sustainability, volunteering and community engagement
Learning & Development
- Support the coordination of training activities and development programmes
- Maintain learning records and training documentation
- Assist with apprenticeship administration and liaison with training providers
- Support the continuous development of employee learning resources
People Data & Reporting
- Support data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with the preparation and production of People reports, dashboards, metrics and routine reporting relating to recruitment, absence, turnover and training activity
- Support the People Team in using data and insights to drive continuous improvement
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure People processes are carried out in accordance with company policies and employment legislation
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
- Support the ongoing review and improvement of People processes and procedures
- Keep up to date with HR best practice, employment legislation and CIPD learning

About You
Apprenticeship Responsibilities
- Successfully complete the Level 3 People Professional Apprenticeship and CIPD qualification
- Participate fully in all apprenticeship workshops, training sessions and reviews
- Complete off-the-job learning requirements and assignments
- Apply apprenticeship learning to support the delivery of People Team objectives
Experience & Technical Skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records
- Demonstrates an interest in Human Resources and employee experience
- Previous office, customer service or administration experience is desirable but not essential
