Liebherr Great Britain is recruiting for an HR Apprentice to join the Human Resources team in the Biggleswade head office.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking to start a career in Human Resources while gaining a relevant professional qualification.
The HR Apprentice will contribute to the success of Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd by providing effective administrative support across all areas of the Human Resources function. The role is responsible for ensuring HR processes are delivered efficiently and accurately while delivering outstanding customer service to employees, managers, and external stakeholders at all times. Alongside gaining valuable hands-on experience, the successful candidate will develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for a successful career in HR through a structured apprenticeship programme.
Your Responsibilities
- Operating all HR systems ensuring data is entered accurately
- Supporting the HR Business Partner with contracts for new starters, internal moves/ promotions and amendments for changes.
- Ensuring compliance within the office including chasing outstanding paperwork for new entrants.
- Setting up and maintaining the employees’ files, including filing and reducing excess paperwork contained in the files (duplicates, etc) for the HR department.
- Liaising with payroll as appropriate, ensuring that all deadlines are achieved.
- Ensuring the leaver’s process is followed and all records / departments updated accordingly.
- Gathering and submitting data for HR team members for monthly/ad hoc reports.
- Supporting the HR Team in the absence process
- Building on knowledge of employment law in conjunction with Company policies and procedures to be able to support with employee queries.
- Responding promptly to internal and external customers, knowing who to approach for additional support and assistance.
- Covering reception duties for lunch, absence, holiday and ad hoc busy periods.
- Managing calls into the business in professional manner understanding whom to contact for additional support and assistance.
- Assisting with room bookings and set up for meetings and interviews as well as catering requirements, ensuring crockery & glasses are replenished for which it may be necessary to ensure the dishwasher is loaded / unloaded.

- A level or equivalent
- Ability to articulate highly developed customer service skills applied in a working environment
- Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn
- Good communicator at all levels with a flexible approach to work
