McGeoch Technology Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an HR Assistant to join the team. The successful applicant will be based at our production, assembly, and test facility in Birmingham City Centre, where we design, manufacture, and repair a range of products and services for defence and industrial markets including ATEX Lighting, Electrical Distribution, Instrumentation and Control solutions.

The Role
As a result of the continued growth of our HR department, we have an exciting opportunity for an HR Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration for the HR department throughout the full employee lifecycle of our employees. This is a varied role with a real chance to show your full range of experience and really make a difference. From recruitment and onboarding to supporting with the administration of policy development and project coordination, no two days are the same. We are looking to implement a new HR system and e Learning platform and need someone who can coordinate a variety of projects while ensuring the day to day tasks are completed.

Your duties will include but not be limited to the following:
- To contribute to the delivery of the overall People Strategy.
- To be an integral member of the HR Team and take responsibility for the day to day administration of the department.
- To be the main point of contact for general HR enquiries from both internal and external customers, referring queries to the appropriate team member where necessary.
- Supporting the HR Manager in the administration process for recruitment and Selection including the organisation of interviews for short listed applicants.
- Responsible for the administration of starters, leavers and movers, to include right to Work checks, creation of contracts, reference checks and exit interviews.
- Responsible for the maintenance of Employee records both Hard and Soft copy and update of Organisational charts.
- Assisting with the smooth onboarding and induction of new employees ensuring new employees receive Induction Packs and associated information their first date of employment.
- To assist with training and development administration, including keeping records of staff attending training and keeping training records as up to date as appropriate.
- To support with the coordination and administration of various HR projects.
- To manage the necessary administration required between HR and Payroll department.
- Support with the continuous improvement of HR Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance.
- Support where necessary with minute taking and managing the notes for more formal Employee Relations matters.
- Support with reporting and data collation to provide dashboard information on absence stats, turnover, recruitment costs, time to hire etc.
- Manage the HR annual calendar of events

Educational Attainment
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 9 to 4/A+ to C, including English Language and Mathematics
Experience
- Significant level of experience in an administrative role
- Previous experience of a confidential and legally compliant environment
- Experience of Time and Attendance or HR Management Systems
Technical
- Experience with all Microsoft office packages
- Able to create trackers / reports
- Knowledge of ACAS code of Practice
