Human Resource Assistant
Location: Lifton, Devon
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: circa £30,000 per annum

We're looking for a proactive and organised Human Resource Assistant to join our HR team at the Ambrosia Creamery in Lifton, playing a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and helping make our site a great place to work.
The Role
Reporting to the HR Advisor, you'll provide comprehensive HR administrative support across the site, ensuring employee records are accurate, HR processes run smoothly, and colleagues receive a positive experience throughout their employment journey. You'll work closely with the wider HR team, managers and employees across the business, supporting everything from recruitment and onboarding to absence management, employee relations and engagement activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and induction of new colleagues.
- Processing new starters, contractual changes and leavers within MyHR.
- Managing probation processes and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Supporting employee relations activities and maintaining case documentation.
- Coordinating absence management processes and reporting trends.
- Producing HR reports and KPI dashboards.
- Conducting HR clinics and responding to colleague queries.
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives and site people plans.
- Administering family leave, benefits and payroll-related activities where required.
- Ensuring compliance with right to work, data protection and personnel file audit requirements

About You
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering a great employee experience.
You'll ideally have:
- CIPD Level 3 qualification.
- At least two years' administrative experience within an HR environment.
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining employee records.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities.
- The ability to prioritise workload, work independently and meet deadlines.
- A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
