About The Role
The HR Assistant position at Saab UK offers a vital support role within the Human Resources department, specifically supporting the Saab Seaeye Business Unit. This role is integral to maintaining smooth HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment policies, and fostering a positive workplace environment. The successful candidate will handle a variety of administrative and operational HR tasks, requiring high levels of discretion, organisational skills, and attention to detail. Qualifications

Responsibilities
The HR Assistant will undertake a broad spectrum of responsibilities to support the HR function effectively, including:
- Assisting with recruitment activities, including preparing offers, contracts, and onboarding documentation, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and promptly.
- Supporting new starter inductions and pre-employment checks, including right-to-work verifications and security clearances, liaising with hiring managers and security teams to facilitate smooth onboarding processes.
- Managing payroll data, ensuring accuracy for each pay cycle, including overtime, personal details, and absence records, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Administering employee benefits such as medical coverage, dental plans, and salary sacrifice schemes, processing starters and leavers efficiently.
- Providing guidance to managers on employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinaries, and absence management, escalating complex matters to senior HR colleagues as needed.
- Championing employee wellbeing initiatives and supporting engagement activities to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Assisting with staff surveys, analyzing feedback, and recommending improvement actions to enhance employee satisfaction and organisational effectiveness.
- Managing HR operational tasks, including maintaining accurate personnel records, updating HR systems, and supporting training administration.
- Ensuring compliance with all HR policies, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards, maintaining organised and up-to-date employee files.
- Supporting the implementation of HR projects and initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement in HR services and processes.
