HR Assistant (Generalist)

Location: Mayfair, London

Salary: £55,000–£65,000 + Benefits (depending on experience)

Reporting to: Chief of Staff

About the Opportunity

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Generalist to join a prestigious Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Family Office based in Mayfair.

Supporting a sophisticated and fast-paced private office, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a first-class HR service across the full employee lifecycle. This is a broad and varied position offering genuine ownership, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a high-performing, people-focused function.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, discreet, and proactive, with the confidence to operate in an environment where professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Lead the onboarding process, delivering a seamless and personalised experience for new joiners.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing professional and timely support to employees.
  • Support employee relations matters, including preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate recruitment activity, including scheduling interviews, liaising with candidates, and supporting hiring managers.
  • Produce regular HR reports and assist with people data analysis and reporting.
  • Support performance review cycles, learning and development initiatives, and wider HR administration.
  • Assist with the review and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to HR projects that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.

About You

  • 3–5 years' experience in an HR Assistant or HR Generalist position.
  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and core HR processes.
  • Previous experience supporting onboarding and employee relations.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment.
  • Naturally discreet with experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with a passion for improving processes and delivering an exceptional employee experience.

Skills & Experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms such as Workday or similar systems.
  • Strong HR administration and recruitment coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of UK employment practices and HR best practice.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential.
