We are looking to employ an HR Assistant for a group of our companies. As HR Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Chief of Staff, Company and Wider Organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring routine HR administration, compliance activities and employee lifecycle processes are completed accurately and efficiently. You will be a first point of contact for administrative HR queries and complete process-driven tasks, maintaining records and monitoring key deadlines.

This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of HR activities, from onboarding and employee changes to payroll administration, reporting and HR systems.

Role Responsibilities

  • Administer HR processes including absence, parental leave, sickness, probation and leavers
  • Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant personnel records and employment documentation, including contracts and variation letters
  • Ensure staff files include all required documentation (e.g. right-to-work, references, DBS, contracts)
  • Monitor and update HR databases and systems (e.g. leave, absences, training logs)
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including:
    • Posting job adverts
    • Scheduling interviews
    • Coordinating candidate communications
    • Process pre-employment checks: right to work, references, DBS, qualifications
    • Prepare and issue offer letters and contracts
    • Organise and support new employee inductions and onboarding
  • Process and maintain employee lifecycle changes, including joiners, leavers, transfers, promotions, salary changes and parental leave
  • Conduct regular HR record checks and audits, resolving discrepancies to maintain data accuracy and integrity
  • Support employee relations matters, including conduct, performance, capability, grievances and disciplinary issues
  • Maintain willingness to conduct above employee relation matters, as and when needed, with supervision and support from management
  • Draft and manage employment-related correspondence (contracts, amendments, letters)
  • Track and support probation reviews, contract renewals, and appraisals
  • Maintain templates for HR documents, ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Collate and verify monthly payroll data (hours, absences, new starters/leavers)

About You

  • Experience in an HR role
  • An understanding of HR processes, policies, and best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and developing practical solutions
  • Strong administrative experience
  • Friendly, approachable personality
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand rules and regulations, ensuring that procedures are followed accurately
  • A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion
