HR Business Advisor

We are recruiting for an experienced HR Business Advisor to join a major London public sector organisation on an interim basis.

This role will provide data, insights and advice to support the design, delivery and embedding of change and improvements, as well as supporting continuous people partnering activities in line with local people plans and broader people partnering activities.

The role will be assignment-based and will work directly with the relevant People Partnering and Change teams depending on the assignment. This opportunity would suit an HR professional with experience supporting organisational change, people plans and change projects within a large, complex organisation.

Key Details

  • Contract: Until April 2027
  • Location: Southwark, London (2 days per week in the office, remainder working from home). Regular attendance may also be required at North Greenwich and Stratford.
  • Rate: £256.80 PAYE / £350 Umbrella per day (Inside IR35)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Interview Process: 1-stage interview

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing data, insights and advice to support the design, delivery and embedding of change and improvements.
  • Working directly with the relevant People Partnering and Change teams depending on the assignment.
  • Supporting continuous people partnering activities in line with local people plans and broader people partnering activities.
  • Supporting organisational change, people plans and change projects.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders across multiple business areas.
  • Presenting data, insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Essential Experience

  • Experience within a large public sector, complex organisation.
  • Experience as an HR Business Advisor, HR Business Partner, Assistant People & Change Partner or similar People/HR role.
  • Experience working with organisational change, people plans or change projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability.
  • Experience presenting data, insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Experience navigating complex HR structures and obtaining specialist advice from SMEs.
  • Exposure to trade unions, employee relations matters or highly unionised environments.

  • Transport sector experience.
