There has never been a more exciting time to join Midland Heart.

With more than a century of history behind us, we are proud of our well-established foundations, financial resilience and sector-leading regulatory ratings. But what defines us now is what comes next. Our bold corporate plan, Tenants at Heart, sets out how we will deliver homes fit for modern living, provide quality services with real local impact and unite as one team working together for our tenants. To make that happen, we need confident leaders, empowered colleagues and a People function that can shape the workforce, culture and capability needed for the future. That is where you come in.

We are looking for an experienced, credible and commercially aware HR Business Partner to join our People Services team.

This is a meaningful opportunity to work as a trusted partner to senior leaders, bringing insight, professional judgement and fresh thinking that improves organisational performance, builds leadership capability and helps us deliver lasting impact for our tenants.

You will be a visible and collaborative partner to the business areas you support, through:

  • Shaping and delivering people plans that directly support business strategy and our Tenants at Heart priorities.
  • Using HR data, business insight and professional curiosity to understand issues, spot trends and translate evidence into practical action.
  • Building management and leadership capability across your business areas, using coaching, practical guidance, workshops and supportive challenge to improve the quality and consistency of people management.
  • Supporting leaders to develop a more consistent and effective performance culture, helping managers set clear expectations, address issues early and enable teams to deliver reliable, high-quality services for tenants.
  • Providing expert, risk-based advice on complex employee relations, organisational change, restructures, TUPE and employment tribunal matters.
  • Leading strategic workforce planning, helping leaders forecast talent needs, identify capability gaps and build the capacity and resilience required for the future.
  • Working closely with Talent, Finance and Resourcing colleagues to ensure workforce plans, budgets and resourcing strategies are aligned and effective.
  • Contributing to corporate HR strategies, projects, policy development and leadership development activity that improves the colleague and tenant experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
