About The Role

We are partnering with a leading international engineering and project management organization to recruit an experienced People Business Partner. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing the company's people strategy within a complex, high-value environment. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on employee relations, organizational change, workforce planning, and talent initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence business outcomes through strategic HR interventions while managing day-to-day HR operations. The role requires a proactive, commercially minded HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, consultative environment and is adept at balancing operational delivery with strategic influence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong HR background with relevant qualifications and experience. Essential qualifications include CIPD Level 7 certification or equivalent, along with Chartered CIPD membership. Candidates should have proven experience operating as a senior HR or People Business Partner, ideally within consultancy, engineering, infrastructure, nuclear, or other highly regulated project-based environments. A comprehensive understanding of UK employment law and its practical application is critical. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence at senior levels, and a track record of managing complex employee relations cases. Strong analytical skills, coupled with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement people plans aligned with overall business objectives, ensuring strategic HR support across all levels of the organization.
  • Provide commercially focused HR advice and challenge to stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence issues, restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes, ensuring compliance and fairness.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, workforce planning, and transformation programs to facilitate business growth and agility.
  • Analyze people data and trends to inform strategic decision-making, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for talent development and process enhancements.
  • Promote consistency and continuous improvement across HR policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and organizational values.
  • Coach and develop managers to enhance leadership capabilities and people management skills, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Contribute to broader HR projects such as organizational design, talent acquisition, diversity, equity & inclusion (ED&I), and process optimization initiatives.
  • Champion the integration of technology, data analytics, and emerging tools, including AI, to improve HR service delivery and support business outcomes.
