HR Business Partner
Location: Prestwick, Ayrshire
Hours: 37 hours per week (half-day Friday)
Type: Full-time
Grade: F
Salary: £50,960
Travel Required: Occasional
Work Location: Site-based (100%)
Security Checks: BPSS, Disclosure Scotland, pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing)

Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long-standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.
As HR Business Partner, you will provide senior, site-based HR leadership and partnering, supporting business performance through effective people strategy delivery.
Working closely with site leadership teams, employees, and Trade Union representatives, you will play a key role in enabling operational effectiveness and organizational change within a complex manufacturing environment.
How you will contribute to the team
You will:
- Provide strategic and operational HR partnering to the site, aligned to business plans and organizational priorities across the full employee lifecycle.
- Lead and develop the HR Advisory team, ensuring consistent, high-quality people support and effective case management across the organization.
- Act as a key point of contact for Trade Union engagement, working in partnership with representatives to support employee relations, consultation, and change activity.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and people plans that meet operational requirements and support a fair, consistent, and legally compliant approach to people management.
- Advise and coach leaders on people-related matters, applying sound judgment and professional expertise within a unionised, safety-critical environment.

Requirements for the role
You will have:
- A broad working knowledge of UK employment law and core HR practices, with experience advising managers in a unionised environment.
- Experience operating as a generalist HR practitioner within a complex, operational organization, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
- Demonstrable experience supporting trade union engagement, employee relations, and organizational change.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent demonstrable experience operating at HR Business Partner level.
