HR Business Partner – Head Office Support
About the Role
We are recruiting an HR Business Partner to support our Head Office functions across three buildings in Bedford. This is a fully on-site role, not suitable for hybrid or remote working. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a visible, hands-on presence to build strong relationships and provide effective face-to-face HR support.

The HR Business Partner will deliver a professional, credible, and commercially focused HR service, working closely with managers to build strong relationships and support a high-performance culture. This role requires high personal credibility, sound professional judgement, and meticulous attention to detail, as it directly impacts employee relations and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice and support across employee relations, performance management, and people development
- Build trusted, face-to-face relationships with stakeholders by understanding their team challenges and operational priorities before influencing decisions
- Ensure HR activities meet professional standards, compliance requirements, and data confidentiality expectations
- Coach managers in a supportive, balanced, and credible way, adapting communication styles to suit different individuals and situations
- Oversee HR projects aligned with organisational goals while identifying continuous improvement opportunities aligned with business needs
- Analyse HR data to provide clear, accurate insights for informed decision-making
- Maintain accurate, structured case documentation to ensure compliance and audability in all employee relations matters
- Follow agreed processes, policies, and HR direction, ensuring outputs are accurate, proportionate, and reviewed before sharing

Requirements
Essential
- HR degree or CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong generalist HR experience, particularly within fast-paced or operational environments
- Proven experience managing employee relations cases end-to-end, with strong knowledge of processes, compliance, and documentation
- Credible in-person relationship-building skills, engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication skills, tailoring style for different audiences
- Strong judgement, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and upholding professional standards
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with experience managing key trackers and reporting

Data & Operational Expertise
- Comfortable working with HR data and presenting insights clearly
Highly Valued (Nice-to-have)
- HR experience in an operational or multi-site environment
- Ability to balance coaching, support, and challenge appropriately
- A pragmatic, visible, hands-on approach to HR
- Preference for onsite presence, embedded within business teams
