Job Title: People Business Partner
We are looking for an experienced and proactive People Business Partner to join our organisation and support the delivery of a high-performing, engaged and inclusive workforce. This is a varied and influential role, partnering closely with leaders and employees to provide both strategic and operational HR support across the business.
As a trusted partner, you will help shape and deliver people initiatives aligned to organisational goals, supporting talent management, employee relations, performance, engagement, wellbeing, organisational development and culture. The role will play an important part in creating a positive employee experience and ensuring people remain at the heart of business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers, supporting best practice through regular review sessions and practical guidance.
- Lead and manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance and capability cases.
- Develop, review and embed effective HR policies, procedures and best practice across the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal policies and governance requirements.
- Support organisational transformation, change management and business improvement projects.
- Develop and implement learning and development initiatives that strengthen organisational capability and career progression.
- Manage the relationship with the organisation’s Talent Acquisition partner, ensuring recruitment activity aligns with workforce plans and business needs.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning and talent management activities.
- Produce and present monthly HR and Talent metrics, people data and management reports, providing insight and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Drive effective performance management processes, including objective setting, performance reviews and development planning.
- Lead Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, promoting a culture of belonging and respect.
- Support employee engagement activity focused on creating a positive employee experience.
- Develop and deliver culture and people plans aligned to the organisation’s vision, values and strategic objectives.
- Champion employee wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Contribute to the delivery of the overall People Strategy and annual HR objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement across HR processes, systems and ways of working.
- Lead or support key projects such as competency matrix frameworks, Investors in People, TUPE and induction passports.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a credible and commercially aware HR professional with strong employee relations experience and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels. You will be comfortable balancing people priorities with business needs and will bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to complex people matters.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases and providing legally compliant HR advice.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
- Ability to analyse HR metrics and use people data to inform recommendations and business decisions.
- Proven experience partnering with management teams, building trust and influencing decision-making.
- Experience contributing to value-adding HR projects and continuous improvement activity.
- Proven track record supporting effective talent acquisition and workforce planning.
- Strong understanding of employment law, statutory obligations and HR best practice.
