Senior HR Business Partner

Corporate Functions

£80,000 plus annual discretionary bonus
London | Hybrid with 2 to 3 office days a week | Permanent

Talent Tent is recruiting a HR Business Partner to support the corporate functions of an international business.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders, help shape how teams are organised and see people plans through to delivery. If you enjoy influencing decisions and staying involved in the detail that makes them work, there’s plenty to get your teeth into here.

About the Business

Our client operates in a regulated financial services environment, with teams in the UK and overseas. You’ll join its People team, supporting functions including Finance, Risk, Compliance and Legal.

The Role

Reporting to an HR Director, you’ll help leaders turn business priorities into practical people plans. Day to day, that will include:

  • Leading and supporting organisational change, including changes to team structures, responsibilities and ways of working.
  • Helping leaders plan the workforce and skills they need, develop their teams and make sound decisions about talent and succession.
  • Coaching senior stakeholders through performance, engagement and employee relations matters, with clear advice they can act on.
  • Using people data to spot problems, understand their business impact and recommend what to do next.
  • Working with Talent, Reward, Employee Relations and People Operations to deliver the right support for your functions.
  • Supporting performance and pay reviews, talent discussions and engagement plans, while keeping decisions fair and well governed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A Few Things to Be Clear About

This is a hands-on partnering role. You’ll have specialist support around you, and you’ll be expected to stay close to the work, solve problems and follow things through. The role has no direct reports.

Regular office time matters. Many of the senior leaders you’ll support are based in London, and you’ll need to be there two to three days each week to build those relationships.

What We Are Looking For

You’ll need strong HR business partnering experience and a track record of turning advice into action. In particular, we’re looking for:

  • Experience in financial services or another regulated industry. This is essential, along with an understanding of how regulation and governance affect people decisions.
  • Practical experience of organisational change and restructuring, with examples of what you personally delivered and the result.
  • Confidence working with senior leaders, challenging decisions constructively and explaining your recommendations clearly.
  • Broad HR knowledge across employee relations, workforce planning, talent and performance, supported by a good understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to use people data to help leaders make better decisions.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR experience.
  • Experience supporting corporate functions in a complex or international organisation would be particularly useful.

How you work with people matters too. You’ll need to be approachable and patient, while being comfortable having a frank conversation when something needs challenging. Leaders should feel able to come to you for support and trust you to give them a straight answer.

What You Can Expect

  • £80,000 salary plus an annual discretionary bonus.
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy up to five additional days each year.
  • Company pension and life assurance worth four times your basic salary.
  • Employer-funded health cash plan, including dental and optical cover, plus access to a 24/7 virtual GP.
  • Training and development opportunities, an Employee Assistance Programme, discounted gym membership and retailer discounts.
  • Access to travel loans, Cycle to Work and a salary sacrifice car leasing scheme.
