HR Business Partner
6 month fixed term contract
Full time with hybrid working available, 3 days onsite per week
Based in London
Salary: circa £60,000 per annum (pro rata)
Are you an experienced HR Business Partner who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and enjoys working strategically with senior leaders to shape and deliver the people agenda?
We are supporting a large and complex education organisation to recruit a Group HR Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior leadership teams, providing strategic HR insight and challenge while helping to shape workforce plans, organisational change and people priorities across the organisation.
Working as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, you will use workforce data and insight to identify challenges and opportunities, influence decision-making and develop pragmatic people solutions. You will also play a key role in supporting organisational change, workforce planning, talent and complex employee relations within a highly unionised environment.
- Partner with senior leaders, providing strategic HR advice, challenge and coaching to support organisational and workforce priorities.
- Lead and contribute to strategic workforce planning, using workforce data, trends and insight to identify current and future people requirements.
- Support and lead complex organisational change, including restructures, consultation and redundancy programmes.
- Provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters and support managers to develop their capability and confidence.
- Build effective relationships with trade unions, supporting consultation, negotiation and positive partnership working.
- Use people data and workforce insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities and translate these into meaningful recommendations for senior leaders.
- Contribute to wider People and Culture projects and initiatives, helping to continuously improve HR services and embed organisational priorities.
- Provide advice and guidance around job evaluations, ensuring a consistent and robust approach.

About you
We are looking for an experienced and credible HR professional who can operate confidently in a complex organisation and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant HR Business Partnering experience within a large, complex organisation.
- Experience within Further Education or the wider education sector, with an understanding of the complexities of operating within this environment.
- Strong practical experience of strategic workforce planning, translating organisational priorities and workforce data into meaningful people plans.
- Knowledge and experience of job evaluation, ideally including the HERA methodology.
- Experience of leading and supporting complex organisational change, including restructures, consultation and redundancy.
- Strong employee relations expertise and experience working effectively within a unionised environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the credibility and confidence to coach, challenge and influence senior leaders.
- A resilient, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to navigate competing priorities, ambiguity and challenging situations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use workforce data and insight to inform decision-making.
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent professional experience.
