About The Role

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading international engineering and project management organization as they continue to strengthen their People function with the appointment of an experienced People Business Partner. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic, high-profile environment that plays a critical role in delivering complex, high-value programs across highly regulated sectors. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic HR guidance and hands-on support across the full employee lifecycle.

The People Business Partner will be instrumental in shaping and executing the organization’s people strategies, influencing decision-making processes, and ensuring best practices are embedded throughout the business. This role combines strategic influence with operational delivery, requiring a proactive, commercially minded HR professional who is adept at managing complex employee relations, organizational change, workforce planning, and talent initiatives. The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on both business performance and employee experience.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent, with Chartered CIPD membership.
  • Proven experience as a senior HR or People Business Partner, ideally within consultancy, engineering, infrastructure, nuclear, or other highly regulated project-based environments.
  • Extensive expertise in employee relations, including managing complex and sensitive cases independently.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application in a corporate setting.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, restructuring, and transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
  • Analytical skills with proficiency in using people data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement people plans aligned with overall business objectives, ensuring strategic coherence and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide expert HR advice and challenge to stakeholders at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, performance management, absence issues, restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, workforce planning, and transformation programs to drive business agility and resilience.
  • Analyze people data and trends to inform strategic decisions, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for talent development and process enhancement.
  • Champion consistency and best practices across HR policies, processes, and practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Coach and develop managers to build leadership capabilities and effective people management skills, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Contribute to wider HR projects, including organizational design, talent management, diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, and process optimization.
  • Promote the use of technology, data analytics, and emerging tools such as AI to enhance HR services and support business outcomes.
