A fast-growing events group are looking for a generalist People Partner to join in a newly created role.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with huge scope for growth. You'll work autonomously, build strong relationships across the business, and have a visible impact, spotting gaps and driving improvement as the People Director's eyes and ears on the ground. You'll lead on day to day operational business partnering as well as refreshing existing HR processes and helping to effectively roll them out. As a new performance management framework beds in, you'll also handle the ER work that comes with it, and play a role in cultural integration as the business grows through acquisition, bringing TUPE knowledge, comms and change management to the table. They also have a ton of projects to get stuck into, particularly around L&D, so experience identifying training needs and organising programmes that land would be preferential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
