HR Business Partner – Education Sector

Liverpool | Hybrid working | 12-month fixed-term contract

£50,000–£54,000 per annum

We are recruiting an experienced HR Business Partner to provide expert, pragmatic HR support to an educational establishment.

This is a hands-on position with a strong emphasis on complex employee relations and case management. It would suit an HR professional who genuinely enjoys resolving challenging people issues, working closely with senior stakeholders and finding practical solutions in a fast-moving environment.

You will support the organisation and its sites both hybrid and face to face, building the confidence of leaders and ensuring they receive a responsive, consistent, and high-quality HR service.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a varied portfolio of complex employee-relations cases, ensuring issues are resolved fairly, effectively, and at the earliest opportunity.
  • Advise principals, leadership teams, and managers on matters including absence, capability, conduct, grievances, and organisational change.
  • Build effective working relationships with recognised trade unions and support the resolution of local and regional matters.
  • Work with the central recruitment team to support attraction and recruitment activity across the region.
  • Review regional HR data alongside finance and education leaders, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of practical, compliant, and accessible HR policies and procedures.
  • Help managers and academy HR teams develop their confidence and capability in managing people.
  • Support organisational and cultural-change programmes aligned with the Trust’s wider strategy.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new academies, including TUPE processes, employee-data transfers, and local induction arrangements.
  • Work collaboratively with external HR partners and providers to ensure effective service delivery and value.
  • Contribute to national HR forums, events, and best-practice initiatives.
  • Support wider business-as-usual HR activity across the region.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
