Ready to partner with leaders and transform how a global consultancy supports its people?

This person can be based in our Bath office on a hybrid working model.

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on building trusted relationships, navigating complex people matters and influencing senior leaders? At Buro Happold, we’re looking for a Senior HR Consultant to join our UK team and play a pivotal role in supporting our Business Operations functions across the region.

About The Role

As a Senior HR Consultant, you will act as a strategic partner to leaders across Business Development, Project Operations, Office Facilities, and our PA/EA communities. You’ll provide expert HR guidance on a wide range of people-related topics, balancing operational support with longer-term strategic planning to help our teams deliver their best work.

In this role, success means delivering timely, pragmatic and robust HR advice while cultivating strong, collaborative relationships at all levels. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to support workforce planning, talent strategy, performance and promotion processes, reward cycles, and employee engagement. You’ll also lead on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair and compliant outcomes that protect both people and the business.

Key Responsibilities

You will be a trusted advisor to our UK leadership teams, influencing people decisions with confidence and professional credibility. Your remit will include:

  • Partnering with senior leaders on workforce planning, resourcing and talent strategy.
  • Leading and resolving complex employee relations cases.
  • Collaborating with Talent Acquisition and Reward on recruitment approvals, salary reviews, bonus cycles, equal pay audits and benchmarking.
  • Supporting promotions and performance management, including moderation and insight reporting.
  • Acting as the primary HR contact for EDI topics within your business areas and helping drive engagement and inclusion initiatives.
  • Leading succession planning and supporting effective retention strategies.
  • Using data and insights to guide decision-making and shape people strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
