About The Role

We are excited to collaborate with a prominent international engineering and project management organization as they seek to expand their People function with the addition of an experienced People Business Partner. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence and shape the organization’s people strategy within a dynamic, high-stakes environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement initiatives that align with the company’s strategic objectives, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth. As a trusted advisor, you will manage complex employee relations, support organizational change, and contribute to workforce planning efforts, ensuring that HR practices support business performance and employee engagement.

The role is characterized by a blend of strategic influence and hands-on delivery, providing exposure to senior stakeholders and the chance to make a tangible impact. You will serve as a key partner in navigating complex employee matters, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise will help the organization manage risks, promote best practices, and develop leadership capabilities across the business.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong HR background with relevant qualifications and experience. A CIPD Level 7 qualification or Chartered CIPD membership (or equivalent) is essential. You should have proven experience operating at a senior HR or People Business Partner level, ideally within consultancy, engineering, infrastructure, nuclear, or other highly regulated project environments. Your experience should include managing complex employee relations cases independently, supporting organizational change initiatives, and applying UK employment law practically. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at senior levels are critical. You should also demonstrate excellent analytical skills, with experience leveraging people data to inform decision-making, along with outstanding communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and deliver people strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Provide expert HR advice and challenge stakeholders at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance issues, absence management, restructures, redundancies, and TUPE transfers.
  • Support and facilitate organizational change initiatives, workforce planning, and transformation projects.
  • Analyze people data and trends to guide strategic decisions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive consistency across HR processes, policies, and practices, ensuring compliance and best practice implementation.
  • Coach and develop managers to enhance leadership capabilities and people management skills.
  • Contribute to wider HR projects, including organizational design, talent development, ED&I programs, and process improvements.
  • Promote the use of technology, data analytics, and emerging tools such as AI to enhance HR services and support business outcomes.
