We are working exclusively on behalf of a leading UK business to recruit an experienced People & Culture Partner.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly commercial, fast-paced organisation operating across multiple specialist business areas. The role is based in Colne, reporting to the Group Head of People and Culture.

As People & Culture Partner, you will play a key role in shaping how the organisation attracts, manages, develops and supports its people. You will work closely with senior leaders and managers within a high-performance, sales-led environment, helping to establish modern, effective People & Culture practices while supporting a wider programme of standardisation and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will combine strong HR expertise with a pragmatic, commercially focused approach and will be comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside senior leaders and people managers to understand business priorities and provide practical, commercially aligned HR advice and support.
  • Develop and introduce effective people policies, processes and frameworks across areas such as performance, attendance, employee relations, onboarding, reward, engagement and wellbeing.
  • Take ownership of implementing consistent People & Culture practices across the UK business, adapting group-wide frameworks where necessary to suit the needs of a dynamic sales environment.
  • Support managers and employees through organisational change, helping to ensure new structures, processes and ways of working are successfully adopted.
  • Provide trusted advice on employee relations issues, including complex disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters, ensuring cases are handled fairly and in line with current UK employment legislation.
  • Help maximise the value and effectiveness of HR systems, supporting improvements to HRIS processes, data quality and the overall experience for employees and managers.
  • Develop and promote initiatives focused on employee wellbeing, resilience and maintaining a healthy and sustainable working environment.
  • Help drive the organisation's equality, diversity and inclusion agenda, ensuring people processes are equitable, consistent and inclusive.
  • Support managers with talent management, succession planning and performance development, helping to identify and nurture future talent.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to line managers to strengthen their people management skills and encourage greater ownership of employee-related matters.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider People & Culture function, sharing ideas, best practice and ensuring a consistent approach across the wider organisation.
  • Provide HR support throughout periods of organisational change, including restructures, employee consultation processes and TUPE activity where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
