This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to influence and shape the company's people strategy within a high-stakes, regulated environment. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on a broad spectrum of HR matters, including employee relations, organizational change, workforce planning, and talent development. This position demands a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of balancing the complexities of compliance, employee engagement, and business performance. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in HR principles, complemented by extensive practical experience in complex, regulated environments. Essential qualifications include CIPD Level 7 certification or an equivalent credential, along with Chartered CIPD membership. Demonstrated success in operating as a senior HR or People Business Partner, particularly within consultancy, engineering, infrastructure, nuclear, or other high-regulation sectors, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of UK employment law, with proven ability to manage sensitive employee relations cases independently. Strong analytical skills, coupled with excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities, are essential for success in this role. The ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders effectively, alongside experience supporting organizational change and transformation initiatives, will set candidates apart.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
