Role Overview

The role is based in Oxford with a primary focus of the role supporting the people function of a major lab project with a build value in excess of £1bn. You will work with project leaders on an operational basis providing advice in all areas of HR with focus on the operational delivery of the HR requirements for this project.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an HR manager driving the completion of HR activity for the project.
  • Works closely with line managers to provide HR advice and expertise in the execution of HR policies and processes.
  • Support line managers with effective resource management on the project.
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Attraction team to facilitate effective recruitment for the project.
  • Provide sound expertise and execute HR activity on performance management, employee relations, engagement and retention.
  • Work closely with the Reward team, to support the facilitation the annual reward review and alignment to the career framework for your project.
  • Collaborate with project leadership team to support career growth for employees through effective talent management and development, working closely with the Talent, Development & Inclusion team.
  • Support the business with effective engagement & retention plans, aligned to the Company purpose, values and behaviours.
  • Partner with the project and wide business to enable effective onboarding for all new joiners.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Requirements

  • Recognised as a capable HR professional able to apply theory and put HR skills into practice to solve problems and issues of diverse scope, and with a degree of complexity.
  • A good understanding of the employee lifecycle, the diverse needs at specific stages and how to integrate people policies and practice in the delivery of people plans.
  • Demonstrates an advanced level of professional skills & knowledge in:
    • Developing people plans & strategies.
    • Attracting, recruiting and onboarding talent.
    • Assessing and building capability.
