SUPERVISION
Reports to and works under the Sr HR Business Partner Europe with a dotted line to the UK and IE Country Manager.
Summary
The HR Business Partner UK & Ireland is responsible for the effective day-to-day delivery of HR support across the UK and Ireland, supporting approximately 130 employees. The role provides practical HR guidance to managers and employees across a broad range of people matters, with a particular focus on employee relations, absence and performance management, organisational change, compliance, and employee lifecycle activity. Working within wider EMEA and global HR frameworks, the role partners closely with the Sr HR Business Partner Europe, Country Management, central People teams, and external advisers, escalating higher-risk or strategic decisions as appropriate.
Essential Duties
Employee Relations & Manager Support: With the guidance of Croner and where needed, the Sr HR Business Partner Europe, act as a key HR advisor to managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, conduct, performance, capability, probation, and mediation.
- Manage cases from initial review through to conclusion, ensuring appropriate process, documentation, and escalation of higher-risk matters.
Absence, Wellbeing & Flexible Working:
- Support managers with short- and long-term absence cases, Occupational Health referrals, return-to-work planning, and consideration of reasonable adjustments.
- Provide guidance on flexible working requests and other employee wellbeing matters in line with company policy and local legislation.
Organisational Change:
- Support and coordinate restructures, redundancies, role changes, and business transfers.
- Prepare consultation documentation and employee communications, support or lead consultation meetings as appropriate, and manage agreed actions through to implementation.
- Support TUPE activity across the UK and Ireland, including information collation, consultation, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Performance Management:
- Support the annual performance review process and provide managers with practical guidance on performance management, improvement plans, objective setting, and probation processes.

Talent Acquisition & Employee Lifecycle:
- Work with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers as required, while supporting the wider employee lifecycle from onboarding and contractual changes through to family leave, flexible working, and offboarding.
Learning & Development:
- Support the local implementation of learning and development initiatives and manager capability activities, working with relevant People colleagues and business stakeholders.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Support annual salary review, bonus, and benefits activity from a local HR perspective, ensuring agreed changes are communicated and implemented accurately.
- Work with Payroll, Finance, and central People teams on employee queries and changes.
HR Policies & Compliance:
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of UK employment law and relevant Irish employment practices.
- Support the review and implementation of HR policies and local processes, identify compliance risks, and ensure managers receive clear guidance on policy application.
Payroll & Pensions:
- Act as an HR point of contact for payroll, pension, and benefits matters, working closely with the Payroll team and Finance to resolve employee issues and support accurate processing of people-related changes.
- Contribute to payroll and HR process governance and documentation as required.
HR Metrics & Reporting:
- Prepare and provide HR reports and people information as required, including data relating to employee turnover, absence, payroll, recruitment, and audits.
Collaboration with EMEA & Global Teams:
- Participate in regional HR meetings and projects, provide UK and Ireland input where required, and support the local implementation of EMEA and global People initiatives.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Support local employee engagement, communication, and culture initiatives, working with managers and wider People teams to help maintain a positive and inclusive working environment.
Visa & Mobility Management:
- Lead right-to-work compliance activity and support employee visa and sponsorship processes with specialist immigration advice where required.
- Administer the UK Home Office sponsorship system and maintain appropriate records and documentation.
HR Projects & Process Improvement:
- Support or lead local HR projects as required, develop practical guidance and templates, and identify opportunities to improve the consistency and efficiency of HR processes.
Required Experience / Qualifications
- Strong generalist HR experience across the employee lifecycle, with confidence managing a varied and complex caseload.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices.
- Practical experience managing employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, capability, and probation.
- Experience supporting organisational change, consultation, and redundancy processes.
- Ability to advise and coach managers while recognising when matters require escalation or specialist input.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong written skills and confidence preparing formal HR documentation and employee communications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and sensitive matters in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting employees in Ireland or knowledge of Irish employment practices.
