Temporary HR Advisor / People Partner

South Yorkshire (Rotherham Area) | Hybrid Working Available
3-5 Days Per Week | September Start

Hays HR are delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing Multi Academy Trust in South Yorkshire to recruit an experienced HR professional to provide temporary support during a period of extended maternity leave cover. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative People team, supporting a portfolio of schools across the region. The Trust is flexible on seniority and would welcome applications from experienced HR Advisors, Senior HR Advisors, HR Business Partners or People Partners with strong education-sector experience.

Your New Role

You will provide operational HR support to schools and senior leaders across the Trust, managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with education-sector policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing complex employee relations casework including absence, disciplinary, grievance and capability matters
  • Providing expert HR advice and guidance to Headteachers and senior leaders
  • Supporting schools with day-to-day people management issues
  • Advising on policies, procedures and employment legislation
  • Applying and interpreting Green Book and Burgundy Book terms and conditions
  • Assisting the wider People team during a period of increased workload
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple school sites

What You'll Need to Succeed

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Previous HR experience within schools, academies, colleges or the wider education sector
  • Strong knowledge of Green Book and Burgundy Book terms and conditions
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations casework independently
  • A current DBS check, or the ability to obtain one quickly
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to start at short notice and commit throughout September and October
  • A full driving licence and ability to travel across South Yorkshire schools when required
  • Due to on-site demands, you must be living within a commutable distance of Rotherham
