HR Category Manager – Procurement

£80,000–£90,000 + Bonus | London – 3 Days per Week

I’m partnering with a major global organisation undergoing a significant transformation of its Procurement function, led by a new CPO and senior leadership team.

As part of this transformation, they are looking to appoint an experienced HR Category Manager to take ownership of a broad and highly visible HR Services spend portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join at a pivotal stage. You’ll have real ownership of the category, significant exposure to senior HR stakeholders and the opportunity to shape how Procurement supports the wider People function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the HR category strategy, aligned to wider business and Procurement objectives
  • Take ownership of a broad portfolio of HR Services spend
  • Lead complex strategic sourcing, tendering and negotiation activity
  • Partner closely with senior HR and business stakeholders, acting as a trusted commercial advisor
  • Analyse spend, supplier markets and existing contracts to identify new commercial opportunities
  • Lead supplier negotiations and ensure the business achieves the best possible commercial outcomes
  • Develop strategic supplier relationships and drive improvements across cost, service, performance and innovation
  • Challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to transform and optimise the supply base
  • Support the implementation of new Procurement processes, systems and ways of working
  • Manage multiple projects and sourcing initiatives across a complex stakeholder environment
  • Bring greater structure, commercial thinking and Procurement influence to the HR category

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
