About the Role

St Joseph's is seeking an experienced HR Co-ordinator to oversee and support all aspects of the HR function across the organisation.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will provide management, support and advice on a wide range of HR matters, helping to ensure the wellbeing and effective support of staff throughout the organisation.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to influence policy development and contribute to organisational strategy.

St Joseph’s Services provides Housing Support / Care at Home services to adults with a Learning Disability living in their own homes.

Responsibilities

The HR Co-ordinator will be responsible for overseeing and supporting HR functions across St Joseph’s Services with particular responsibilities in:

  • Staff Wellbeing
  • Absence Management
  • Recruitment – including right to work
  • Retention
  • Disciplinary / Capability processes
  • Policy and Procedure review/ implementation

The HR co-ordinator is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and contributes to the overall strategy and operations of St Joseph’s Services. The HR co-ordinator will uphold St Joseph’s Services Christian Principles and Vincentian Philosophy and Values.

Key Duties

  • Work at all times within the values of St Joseph’s Services and act in ways that create an inspirational, healthy and respectful environment for all.
  • To oversee and ensure the development and implementation of HR best practice within St Joseph’s.
  • To keep up to date with HR research, best practice, local strategies and initiatives.
  • To contribute to the strategic plan of St Joseph’s Services and be responsible for HR strategic and operational outcomes.
  • To lead on St Joseph’s recruitment following the Recruitment Policy, right to work legislation and Safer Recruitment guidelines to ensure seamless recruitment processes and onboarding of staff members.
  • To oversee the management of St Joseph’s HR Data.
  • Oversee and support the development and implementation of our organisational HR systems.
  • Effective communication with the management team, staff members, Trustees and external agencies/partners.
  • To oversee all HR processes offering advice and support to the management team on HR Issues such as disciplinary and grievances.
  • To monitor and support absence management processes across St Joseph’s – arranging and holding welfare meetings with line managers to ensure staff wellbeing.
  • To work with the management teams on staff retention ensuring St Joseph’s remains a place that our staff feel valued and supported, this includes maintaining/ reviewing staff benefits.
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills, including use of Office 365 and CRM/ databases to maintain accurate employee records, support reporting requirements and ensure compliant HR service delivery.
  • To work in partnership with the Training Coordinator to ensure that all staff can develop to their full potential.
  • To liaise and actively engage with colleagues in other parts of St Joseph’s Services to ensure a comprehensive service is achieved for the people who use the services.
  • To liaise and actively engage with colleagues in other organisations, developing partnerships and networks that support the circle.
  • Manage systems to record and report on HR delivery and outcomes.
  • Support, facilitate and participate in organisational forums.
  • Contribute/ take responsibility for completing HR reports in a timely manner.
  • To offer any HR Support to our subsidiary charity St Joseph’s Homes as required.
  • To carry out any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the wellbeing of staff and people who use the services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • An ability to demonstrate the core values of St Joseph’s Service.
  • A relevant professional qualification in HR - CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma or above or equivalent practical experience.
  • Evidence of and ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Proven HR experience in a similar environment.
  • Excellent IT Skills – including usual software packages such as Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to cope with challenge.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and persuade.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
  • Knowledge of Health and safety legislation and its impact on HR.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Full valid driving licence.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Social Care.
  • Knowledge of regulatory systems in Care (Care Inspectorate, SSSC etc).
