HR Governance & Project Lead
Location: Peak HQ - Inchinnan, Renfrewshire
Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract
Ready to make a lasting impact? We're looking for an experienced HR professional to drive a high-profile governance and transformation project that will strengthen and modernise HR practices across Peak International.
We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Governance & Project Lead to take ownership of a significant programme of HR transformation. Reporting to the Group People Director, you will design and implement a comprehensive HR governance framework, helping us create consistent, compliant and scalable people practices across our UK region and, where appropriate, our wider global locations.
This is a hands-on project role where you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Working closely with HR colleagues, business leaders and key stakeholders, you will develop practical policies, procedures, manager toolkits and compliance frameworks that strengthen manager capability and support organisational effectiveness.
What will you be doing?
You will lead the development and delivery of a structured HR governance programme, including:
- Designing and implementing an overarching HR governance framework
- Establishing HR risk management, audit and governance reporting processes
- Reviewing existing HR policies, identifying gaps and developing updated policies
- Ensuring documentation aligns with UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Mapping and redesigning core employee lifecycle processes
- Creating standard operating procedures, process maps and practical guidance
- Developing manager toolkits, templates, workflows, letters and forms
- Building guidance covering performance, conduct, capability, absence, recruitment, investigations and grievances
- Managing the overall project plan, priorities, risks, dependencies and milestones
- Facilitating workshops and consultation sessions with managers, leaders and HR colleagues
- Supporting effective communication and change management to encourage adoption

What are we looking for?
You will be action-oriented, solutions-focused and comfortable creating structure in areas of ambiguity. You will combine close attention to detail with an understanding of the wider organisational objective, and you will be collaborative while maintaining clear accountability for delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Significant experience leading HR transformation, governance or HR operations projects
- Demonstrable experience developing HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks
- A strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR compliance requirements
- Experience creating manager toolkits and process documentation
- Proven project management capability, with experience delivering complex programmes of work
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills
- The confidence to work independently and take ownership of multiple workstreams
- A CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent, together with experience working in a multi-site or international organisation, would be advantageous.
