3 Days per Week | Hybrid Working | £27 per Hour | Initial 3 Month Contract
An established and growing multi-site organisation is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead a comprehensive HR and compliance improvement project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong HR foundations, working autonomously, and partnering with senior leaders to create practical, lasting improvements.
Working closely with the senior management team, you will review current HR practices, modernise documentation and processes, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and develop a framework that supports the organisation as it continues to grow.
This is a hands-on project role offering a varied workload, the opportunity to influence positive change, and the flexibility of hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a full audit of current HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Review and update employment contracts to ensure compliance with current legislation.
- Rewrite and modernise the employee handbook.
- Review personnel records and recommend improvements to HR record management.
- Review and update job descriptions across the organisation.
- Meet with managers and employees to gain an understanding of individual roles and responsibilities.
- Develop practical performance review and probation processes.
- Support managers with employee relations guidance and HR best practice.
- Review HR compliance across multiple operational locations.
- Review health and safety administration, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Produce recommendations and an implementation plan to support future growth.
- Build trusted relationships across the business while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

About You
You will be an experienced HR professional who enjoys working within SMEs or operational environments and is confident leading improvement projects from start to finish.
You Will Have
- Proven generalist HR experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.
- Experience reviewing and writing HR policies and employment contracts.
- Experience undertaking HR audits and implementing improvements.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to work independently while partnering with senior leaders.
- A pragmatic, commercial, and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.

Experience within retail, logistics, warehousing, or multi-site organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.
