Opportunity to Join Quest's HR Team

An opportunity to join an established HR team at Quest, providing HR solutions to a wide client base throughout the UK. This is an excellent position for an experienced and motivated HR professional looking for a career in HR consultancy. Multi-site and complex ER case work experience is essential. The position is challenging, and no two days will be the same.

This is a home-based role with regular travel throughout the UK and occasional overnight stays will be required.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be open and approachable with effective decision making and planning skills. You must have extensive employment law and HR operational experience to be able to think strategically and analyse complex data and deliver the HR solutions. You must have the ability to take initiative, prioritise and plan effectively as you will often be working to tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels, along with the ability to understand and adapt to the changing needs of the service and clients essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working as part of the HR consultancy team; you will provide a comprehensive range of ER and HR support to our SME clients. As HR Consultant you will work with a broad range of organisations dealing with their HR business needs and providing realistic solutions aligned with their business strategy. You will provide proactive, pragmatic and commercial support while establishing and maintaining a positive and collaborative working relationships with the clients. The role will be varied including, completion of HR audits, draft documents including contracts of employment and company policy and procedures, advising on all ER and HR matters such as disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management, redundancy and restructure programmes, discrimination, and TUPE.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Effectively account manage a portfolio of clients; to ensure compliance and determine their HR operational and strategic needs, delivering services in line with agreed SLA’s
  • To provide ER and HR related advice to clients; ensuring the advice offers best practice and commercially practical solutions, whilst explaining the risks and liabilities with associated solutions
  • To grow the client base in both value and profitability of delivery
  • To undertake HR consultancy work on site or remotely as directed
  • To design and deliver HR training
  • Participate in the out of hours telephone advice line service offered to clients, working on a rota basis
  • To support the business development team by identifying opportunities for additional services.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Significant operational generalist HR experience dealing with complex ER and HR cases
  • Experience of drafting and advising on HR processes, policies, and procedures and up to date knowledge of Employment law and case law
  • Experience of multi-site work
  • Experience of working to deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, and on own initiative and autonomously
  • Good IT skills. A working knowledge of Windows (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Full driving license and use of own vehicle as travel throughout the UK is required
  • CIPD qualified or working towards Level 5 or above
