About Amegreen Children's Services

Founded in 2013, Amegreen Children's Services specialises in therapeutic residential care for vulnerable children and young people aged 5 to 18. Based in rural West Berkshire, our community of homes provides a warm, nurturing environment where children with complex needs are supported to build positive relationships, grow in confidence and achieve fulfilling lives.

All of our homes are rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. Our staff are trained in the PACE therapeutic parenting model, and we offer a range of integrated services including children's residential care, education, therapeutic support and our unique Stable Futures equine programme. We are proud of the outcomes we achieve and the difference we make to some of the most vulnerable young people in society.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised HR Coordinator to join the team at Amegreen. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of our people function, giving you real exposure to the full spectrum of HR, from employee relations and policy development to payroll support and onboarding.

You will be the first point of contact for employee queries, manage your own caseload, and play a vital role in keeping our people data and processes running smoothly. If you are early in your HR career and eager to develop, this role will give you the breadth, autonomy and mentorship to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries, resolving issues independently or escalating to the HR Manager where required.
  • Manage low-level Employee Relations cases including disciplinaries, sickness absence, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and provide regular reporting on headcount, turnover, and absence trends.
  • Support the payroll process by collating statutory leave, leavers, and promotions data.
  • Administer employee benefits including pension, life assurance, healthcare, and Cycle to Work schemes.
  • Ensure new starters are safely recruited in line with Children Care Regulations 2015 and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Assist in developing HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and organisational objectives.
  • Minute meetings and provide general support to the HR Manager including drafting letters and preparing documentation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
